Quick Answers to Our Most Common Questions

How does Daintree distinguish itself from other firms?
We strive to help you “see the forest” by clarifying your situation and goals and making the complex simple. The core of what we do is understanding what your money means to you and your family and then guiding you to reach your goals. Your success is our success.

Daintree is a fiduciary. What does this mean?
A fiduciary has a legal responsibility to always act in your best interest (in contrast to some financial professionals whose only standard is to do what is “suitable” for each client). Working with a true fiduciary is the only assurance you have that your interests will always be protected.

What are your fees?
For most clients, the fee on assets begins at 1% annually and declines as a percentage of larger portfolios. Our fee is based on both the level of responsibility and the amount of time required to serve you. Our services normally include both investment management and comprehensive financial planning.

Can I do this myself?
Possibly, and we are glad to help you become as self-sufficient as possible. However, in addition to our expertise, Daintree has access to many investments and tools that are not directly available to individuals. It is also difficult to be objective and detached about one’s personal affairs, so it may not be surprising that Daintree’s clients include professional money managers and attorneys.

Where are my investments held, and how are they protected?
Your marketable securities are held at a qualified custodian such as Charles Schwab or Fidelity Investments. You will receive statements directly from the custodian, as well as consolidated quarterly investment reports from Daintree. Both the custodians and Daintree carry liability and fraud protection insurance for your peace of mind.

Can I access my account online?
Daintree provides online viewing access to your portfolio, including details of the individual securities and dynamic performance reporting. You also have access to a sophisticated, online financial planning portal where you can view your entire net worth and track progress toward your goals.

What are your qualifications? Who will I work with?
Daintree has the experience and expertise needed to help you navigate the intricacies of your financial life. You work with a team of professionals led by your personal advisor. Daintree includes professionals with the following designations: CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), Accredited Estate Planner (AEP®), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®), Juris Doctor (JD), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).

Is values-based investing available?
Daintree is delighted to help clients reflect their personal values in their investment strategy and we are able to customize investments to align with the specific values and interests of each client.
