Daintree is pleased to announce that Alex Gross and Sam Afari-Aikins have become shareholders and Partners of Daintree effective January 1. This grows the number of Daintree Partners from six to eight. You can see bios for Alex and Sam and the rest of our Daintree team here. Alex and Sam have made such a difference for our clients and our staff and will continue to do so for years to come. This is another sign of good things happening at Daintree, even during the pandemic. At this point we have been working remotely for nearly ten months. Probably like you, we are past ready to rip off our masks and reunite with friends, but we also realize this challenge has been a catalyst for learning, innovating and growing our business. Daintree is pleased to announce the promotions of Samuel Afari-Aikins to President and Karen Angrisano to COO, effective November 1. Sam and Karen are stellar representatives of our values, keeping clients at the heart of everything we do. This is an important moment for our staff, who have universal respect and affection for Karen and Sam and great confidence and anticipation for Daintree’s future under their leadership.

Sam and Karen both have been with Daintree for close to a decade, each with steadily increasing responsibilities. Sam started as an associate with our operations team and was promoted several times to his current position as Senior Client Advisor and Director of Client Service. Karen’s current role is Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Operations. We are delighted to promote these leaders from within our talented staff.

Sam loves working directly with clients and will continue to do so as part of his duties. Any assignments that need to change will be thoughtfully implemented and we will let you know as soon as possible of any change that would affect you.

Our current President and COO, Eric Godes, will become Senior Advisor to Daintree. We thank Eric for his many contributions to Daintree’s mission and growth. We are fortunate that Eric will continue to provide us with leadership and guidance through this transition.

The Institutional Investor RIA Institute recently selected Daintree’s President and COO, Eric Godes to serve as their 9th Annual RIA East conference Chairperson. In addition to delivering the opening remarks, Eric moderated the two day conference attended by many leading Registered Investment Advisory and asset management firms. The Institute’s goal is to help RIAs make the investment decisions and practice management choices that will best serve their underlying clients. Topics included: “When Is The Next Recession,” “Setting Expectations For Your Equity Managers,” “Is Now The Time To Hire a COO?,” “Active And Passive Investing,” “Creating Client Loyalty,” and many more. Bestselling author, Beverly Flaxington, closed the conference with an inspiring presentation to help advisors incorporate what they heard and make their goals happen. Daintree’s President and COO, Eric Godes, recently moderated a panel for the 5th Annual Private Wealth New England Forum in Boston. The forum brings together leading RIAs, family offices, private banks and HNW wealth managers from across the region for a day of peer-to-peer learning from some of the top minds in the industry. Eric’s panel shared their insights on the future of wealth management and covered topics such as the transfer of wealth across generations, working with millennials, fee pressure in the industry and current communication methods with clients. Those in attendance found the session both informative and helpful.

The Boston Probate and Estate Planning Forum is an association of experienced and senior-level trusts and estates attorneys in Massachusetts. The Forum meets monthly to discuss current topics in the fields of probate, estate planning, tax, and trust administration. Guest speakers are attorneys, academics, government officials, and professionals in related fields with substantial expertise in their respective disciplines.

On November 2, 2017, Daintree’s President and COO, Eric Godes, along with Partner and Senior Client Advisor, Barbara C. Attardo, were featured speakers at the New England Wealth & Retirement Conference held at Gillette Stadium. Barbara spoke on a panel entitled “Well-thy” women addressing the industry’s need for more qualified women advisors and how crucial it is for all advisors to understand the female investor and how best to help them navigate the wealth management and financial planning landscape. Eric spoke on a panel to educate advisors on how to build a thriving practice. Clearly not all firms are created equal, and by following best practices and always keeping the client’s best interests first and foremost, you can both build a thriving practice and ensure clients are well served while receiving prudent and personalized advice.
